Aims and Scope

Truth in Research (TIR) is an independent, open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to rigorous scholarly inquiry into contested questions in science, particularly those involving origins, natural history, genetics, geology, biology, anthropology, and related interdisciplinary fields. The journal also welcomes high-quality contributions in theology, biblical studies, philosophy of science, and apologetics when they engage evidence-based analysis and historical or textual scholarship.

Aims

  • To provide a transparent, high-integrity venue for original research, critical reviews, technical commentaries, and scholarly debates on foundational scientific and worldview questions.
  • To prioritize evidence over consensus, publishing the strongest arguments from competing perspectives while openly acknowledging weaknesses, failed predictions, and data that challenge any given model.
  • To foster open scholarly discussion by maintaining rigorous editorial, scholarly, and peer-review standards without protecting favored ideas or enforcing comfortable silences.
  • To advance truth-seeking through transparent methodology, reproducible reasoning, detailed data presentation, and intellectual honesty across paradigms (e.g., creationist, evolutionary, or other frameworks).

Scope

The journal welcomes submissions in the following areas (non-exhaustive):

  • Origins and Historical Sciences: Research on cosmology, abiogenesis, macroevolution, young/old earth models, flood geology, fossil record interpretation, and the origin of life, species, and humanity.
  • Biological and Genetic Sciences: Studies in genetics, genomics, endogenous retroviruses (ERVs), information theory in biology, speciation, baraminology, and comparative anatomy/molecular biology.
  • Geology and Paleontology: Investigations into stratigraphy, radiometric dating, catastrophic vs. uniformitarian geology, and the fossil record.
  • Anthropology and Archaeology: Human origins, ancient civilizations, Neanderthals/Denisovans, and related topics.
  • Theology and Philosophy: Biblical interpretation, historical reliability of Scripture, philosophy of science, epistemology of origins, and interdisciplinary analyses linking faith and evidence.
  • Methodology and Critiques: Technical critiques of existing models, reproducibility studies, statistical analyses, and discussions of scientific epistemology and worldview influences on research.

Manuscripts may represent any legitimate scholarly perspective provided they meet standards of evidence, logical rigor, and transparency. The journal is especially interested in work that:

  • Presents novel data or reinterpretations of existing data.
  • Engages opposing views fairly and substantively.
  • Highlights unresolved problems or testable predictions in current paradigms.
  • Advances clear, falsifiable hypotheses.

Truth in Research does not publish pseudoscience, unsubstantiated claims, or polemics lacking scholarly depth. All submissions undergo independent peer review. The journal is committed to open access, reproducibility, and the principle that truth is best served by scrutiny, not protection.
